About the JD47 + JCW System

An aluminium shopfront is more than its door — it is the coordinated frontage that frames the retail unit. We fabricate complete aluminium shopfronts on the JD47 (door) + JCW (curtain wall and display zone) Jack Aluminium platform so a single supplier covers the entire frontage as a coordinated set. Shopfitters get framing, glazed display zones, signage rail height, and the entrance leaf engineered to a single scheme — eliminating the cross-supplier interface issues that cause site delays. Display zones glaze to 28mm sealed units, signage zones are scheme-coordinated to the architect's elevation, and the JD47 entrance frame integrates with curtain walling profiles for visual continuity. The JD47 door element accepts 6mm to 28mm glazing, with floor-spring or pivot operation and curved finger guards as standard. We deliver every shopfront kit jig-tested, labelled by opening reference, glazed and beaded — ready for the shopfitter to install. We also supply reactive shopfront replacement work, fabricating to a survey when an existing shopfront has failed and needs replacing as part of a retail maintenance call.

Are these aluminium shopfront fabrications supplied as complete systems?
Yes. We supply the full shopfront as a coordinated kit — entrance door (JD47), display-zone glazing, signage zone, and any curtain walling tie-ins (JCW) — all fabricated to a single scheme. Shopfitters and fitout contractors get one supplier for the whole frontage, not separate orders for door and glazing.
What size aluminium shop fronts can you fabricate?
When integrated with our JCW curtain walling system, the shopfront can extend up to 13m in height and is wind-load tested to 2400 Pa. Most retail shopfronts are well within these limits. We fabricate to your survey or architect's elevation.
Can you fabricate aluminium shopfronts for reactive maintenance work?
Yes. Reactive shopfront replacement is one of our core trade segments. If an existing shopfront has failed — impact damage, weather damage, or end-of-life replacement — send us the survey and we fabricate the replacement frontage as a complete kit, typically within our 21-day standard lead time, with rush turnarounds available where the unit is critical.
Do aluminium shopfronts include the signage zone?
Yes. Signage zone height and detail is coordinated to your scheme drawings, including the rail height, edge profile, and any required service zones for illuminated lettering. We fabricate the signage zone as part of the shopfront kit so the entire frontage arrives as a single coordinated assembly.
Do you supply automatic shopfront entrance doors?
We supply the aluminium frame and door leaf jig-prepared for automatic operator fitting. The shopfitter or specialist installer fits the operator on site. This is the standard arrangement across UK retail because operators are typically supplied by the door automation specialist.
Can shopfronts be fabricated in a coloured finish to match brand standards?
Yes. Single-colour and dual-colour polyester powder coat finishes are available across the full RAL range, applied through a Qualicoat-approved supplier. Specify the RAL number(s) on your quote request and we factor the finish into the lead time.
