The quotation confirms the current lead time, its start point, the exact date and any product- or specification-specific exceptions. ## One planning rule, confirmed for each order Use the approximately 21-working-day allowance before the product and specification are fixed. An obsolete profile, specialist hardware, non-standard glass, finish matching, workshop capacity or incomplete approval information can change the programme. The quotation is the source of truth for the current lead time, its start point, the exact date and any exceptions. Kingsland fabricates supply-only and does not attend site or install. Once the site is safe, keep the failed leaf or hardware where practical. It can help identify an older system, confirm a threshold or check whether a current profile can replace what is already there. ## Send a complete replacement survey A clear first enquiry reduces avoidable questions. For a single commercial entrance, send: - **Photos of the complete opening** — inside, outside, threshold, head and both jambs. - **Outerframe sizes** — width and height measured in several places. - **Leaf sizes** — where the existing leaf can be measured safely. - **Frame depth and sightlines** — including any adjoining screen or shopfront. - **Threshold detail** — dimensions or a clear close-up if the type is unknown. - **Hardware** — lock, closer, pivot or floor spring, panic hardware and access-control preparation. - **Glass specification** — thickness and build-up where known. - **Finish** — RAL reference or the closest available project record. - **Delivery postcode** — depot or site. - **Required date** — so the trade desk can compare it with the current product lead time. If you only have a marked-up sketch and photographs, send them. We will tell you what else is needed before the replacement can be priced and approved. ## What happens after the enquiry ### 1. Scope and system review We compare the survey, photographs and hardware notes with the products and profile systems we fabricate. If a true like-for-like replacement is not possible, the quotation will identify the proposed current system. ### 2. Quotation and lead-time confirmation The quotation states the product, included components, current lead time, start point, exact date, any exceptions and the information still required. ### 3. Drawing and specification approval Where a fabrication drawing is required, sizes, threshold, handing and hardware preparation are agreed before cutting. Changes after approval can move the delivery date, particularly when they affect powder coating, glass or bought-in hardware. ### 4. Fabrication and workshop checks The order is made in Warrington. Swing doors are assembled and function-checked on the workshop jig before dispatch; this is a fabrication QC check, not certification testing. Door leaves are pre-glazed and gasketed in the workshop where specified. Multi-opening orders can be labelled to the opening schedule. ### 5. Delivery and fitting The replacement is protected for transport and delivered to the agreed address. Your engineer or installation contractor fits it on site. ## Replacements do not have to be large orders There is no minimum order value. A single replacement leaf, one louvre door or one shopfront opening is welcome. For several openings, send the schedule with the survey references. Orders can be supplied in agreed stages, with each item labelled so the fitting team can identify it on arrival. ## Old profiles, colours and hardware Replacement work often involves products made years ago. Three details need particular care: - **Profile compatibility.** An obsolete section may need a current-system replacement rather than a direct copy. - **Finish matching.** Fresh powder coat can look different beside material that has weathered on site, even when the RAL number is the same. - **Hardware substitution.** A discontinued lock or pivot can change the preparation needed in the leaf or frame.
